Job Position: Epidemiologist II
The MS State Dept. of Health STD/HIV Office is recruiting an Epidemiologist II to oversee and manage STD/HIV data surveillance under the supervision of the STD/HIV Epidemiologist III. The incumbent will develop and manage data collection policies and protocols for report-able STD/HIV disease conditions. The incumbent will also design, conduct, and report outcome evaluation for STD/HIV partner services data. The Epidemiologist will perform project-related data management, analysis, and report writing for implementation and evaluation of the project.
Incumbent will also provide oversight for data quality improvement activities, in addition to the implementation and development of STD/HIV data systems. This includes the merging of current databases to improve data analysis and quality assurance.
Work hours are from 8:00 am-5:00 pm/5 days per week. Overnight travel is infrequently required.
Salary Rate: $47,815.00
Qualifications:
A Doctoral Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in epidemiology, public health, statistics, bio-statistics, health planning, or health care administration AND one (1) year of experience directly related to the above described duties.
OR
A Master's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in epidemiology, public health, statistics, bio-statistics, health planning, or health care administration AND Three (3) years of experience directly related to the above described duties.
OR
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in epidemiology, public health, statistics, bio-statistics, health planning, or health administration; AND four (4) years experience directly related to the above described duties.
Preferred Qualifications: Must have at least 2 years experience in statistical analysis and programming using SAS. Must also be familiar with HIV surveillance activities/methods.
