Luke’s House Program Manager

Luke’s House Clinic is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization providing free
medical and mental health services to those in need by volunteer physicians and nurses. Created in 2007
through a partnership of Rayne United Methodist Church (UMC) and Mt. Zion UMC, the clinic’s mission
is to be a place of medical and spiritual hope, health, and healing for Greater New Orleans, to provide
patient-centered volunteer experiences for students, and to open a doorway to long-term healthcare
solutions.

When it opened, Luke’s House saw an average of 10-15 patients at the weekly Tuesday evening
clinic. Since moving from Mt. Zion to its own building in the heart of Central City, that number has
doubled with the addition of a Thursday evening clinic. The clinic provides primary care in English and
Spanish for adults and children, mental health counseling, vaccinations, monthly eye and women’s
clinics, and prescription assistance. The clinic serves as a doorway to long-term care by referring patients
to medical “homes” or specialists for follow-up when necessary.

Job Description:
Program Manager will serve as a health educator and will oversee several health education curricula
currently in place. The Program Manager will work with community members and partners to develop
additional health education curricula based on community needs. The Program Manager will be
responsible for developing evaluation tools for all curricula and for creating quarterly evaluation reports
of all programs.

Program Manager will serve as a clinic coordinator alongside the Executive Director. The Program
Manager will ensure patients are treated with respect and that their needs are met. This includes
tracking patient satisfaction through survey tools, following up on patient referrals, and creating
partnerships in the community with social service and faith-based organizations.
Program Manager will serve as volunteer coordinator of over 60 volunteers at Luke’s House. They will
ensure nurses, medical students, and other professionals are scheduled for each clinic night (ten nights
per month) and will report to the Executive Director.

Program Manager will spend six to eight hours per week developing and implementing fundraising
strategies with the Executive Director with the goal of making the position self-sustainable. The Program
Manager will write grants, work with the Fundraising Committee to execute two yearly fundraising
events, will create donor engagement and development plans, and will solicit donations from corporate
sponsors and individual donors in collaboration with the Executive Director.

Program Manager will assist Executive Director in other tasks yet to be assigned. Luke’s House is a small
non-profit with a large impact. The Program Manager will work with the Executive Director to improve
current services offered and create new programs to meet community needs.

Compensation:

$40,000 per year ($19.23/hr)
