Job Description:
The Mission and Strategic Outreach Coordinator is responsible for leading all breast health education outreach which includes development of an expanded educational program with particular attention to targeted need parishes and populations. The job responsibility additionally includes volunteer cultivation, recruitment, training and management initiatives, while also building upon a robust grants program to leverage funds invested in the local community and serve more people. This full-time position will work in conjunction with the Executive Director to develop a new volunteer and outreach framework in support of aggressive annual revenue goals.

Specific Responsibilities
- Work with Affiliate grantees and other community partners to facilitate breast health educational outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop the framework for a new volunteer management program that will support the goals and objectives of the Affiliate’s strategic plan.
- Implement the volunteer management program
- Support the Executive Director in the creation of a committee structure that will increase the capacity of Affiliate staff.
- Assist in building a pipeline of engagement and speaking opportunities for Affiliate leadership.
- Collaborate with Executive Director and volunteers on the planning and implementation of mission programs and outreach events.
- Advocate for Affiliate constituents by building relationships that will assist in the reduction of barriers to breast health care.
- Administer the Affiliate grants program.
- Help to identify and recruit new leadership volunteers.
- Support development efforts by researching potential funders. Work to develop proposals as appropriate.
- Support Executive Director and Board of Directors with other Affiliate projects and events as requested.

Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience successfully managing educational outreach program.
- Experience in successfully managing a volunteer program or events similar in scope.
- Understanding of best practices in grants management and coalition building.
- Must possess the intellectual depth, entrepreneurial drive, maturity, self-confidence, interpersonal skills and warmth to build and maintain relationships with people at all levels of the organization, across a diverse range of educational and social backgrounds.
- Must have a can-do attitude, a bias for action and commitment to excellence.
- Excellent communication skills—both oral and written—with an ability to inspire others to become Komen supporters and ambassadors.
- Outstanding organizational skills to plan, implement, and administer complex fundraising events and programs with thoroughness, timeliness, and attention to detail even when working under pressure.
- Occasional evening and weekend work required.
